Acupuncture is the practice of placing very fine needles at specifc points in the body to facilitate healing. It has been used by the Chinese for over 2,000 years and been constantly developed from the the time of its incepton right up to the present day.

According to Chinese medical theory the body contains 12 regular acupunctue channels, each associated with a specific organ and eight extra channels not associated with an organ. By regulating these channels we can allow healing to take place in the body.

There have been many studies by the scientific community on the effects and mechanisms of acupuncture; and while western biomedical science still does not understand all the mechanisms of acupuncture it has been shown to be have many benefical effects including increasing circulation, reducing pain and reducing inflammation.
